At present, there aren't many alternatives to silicone, which gives the most realistic feel for breast forms. It's a really tough balance between preserving the environment and giving women the confidence to live the life they can be comfortable in. My products do contain some plastics and adhestives, which are non-recyclable - I wish this were not the case. Whilst I continuously seek to provide more sustainable products, I can ensure that the products I do suppy, are made to last, lessoning the impact.
Whilst some things are unavoidable, I do make sure that my packaging and processes are as environmentally-friendly as possible. I recycle all packaging where I can and keep packaging to a minimum with all items I send out - this means the box won't be big enough to be a garage. This enables me to keep my costs down too - it's a win-win!
- I use biodegradable tissue paper packaging
- Mailing bags have added bio compounds to assist the degrade process
- Jiffy bags have recyclable paper parts. I continue to research more options here
- Recyclable cardboard boxing
Some products are packed with plastic padded pillows. These can be popped and recycled, subject to your local recycling scheme.
